My Policies

Materials

Students are expected to have all materials prepared for their lessons..

  • Songwriting Students: songs they’re working on, any assigned exercises, method of writing things down, instrument or track to accompany self

  • Voice Students: all music including warm up, exercises, repertoire, and current piece; water; any tracks or an instrument to accompany themself; pencil

  • Piano Students: all music including exercises, repertoire, and current piece(s); any tracks; pencil

Attendance and Tardiness

In order to be fair to everyone who takes lessons, any tardiness cannot be made up at the end of the lesson so that I can stay on schedule. If given more than 48 hours notice of cancelation of a lesson, you will be eligible for a makeup lesson within a month. Cancelation within 48 hours forfeits your right to a make up lesson. Exceptions can be made in extreme circumstances, such as family emergencies, weather prohibiting either teacher or student from attending the lesson. I will communicate as far in advance as possible any days on which I need to cancel lessons. I expect the same curtesy from you as well. Tardiness due to technical difficulties will not result in extra time on the end of your lesson, so please make sure you’re all set up before your lesson time so you can address any problems. If the issue is on my end, you can either reschedule or add any missed time onto your next lesson depending on availability.

Make Up Lessons

Make up lessons will be made up within a month and scheduled based on my availability. These times will be available on a first-come-first-served basis and will take place on Fridays. If Fridays don’t work for you, please reach out to make other arrangements! A maximum of three make up lessons will be offered per half year (January-June; May-December).

Scheduling

Students can sign up for a weekly time and be assured that lesson time will be held for them so long as they pay on time and continue to show up for their lessons

Payment

Payment for the month is due in full the last week of the month. I require you to pay for all lessons for the upcoming month ahead of time. The exact due dates by each month will be provided at the beginning of each semester or, for those signing up mid-semester, upon signing up for lessons. Payment
